Chalet F’Net reviews

Here are our guests' reviews of Chalet F’Net

Chalet F'Net is absolutely magical. I booked the chalet for my mother’s 70th birthday trip as a base for hiking and reading. The setting is beautiful: all you can see is mountains from the bedrooms and the kitchen with no other houses in sight. Wild flowers and trees were bursting with greenery around the house. The interior decor was also seriously cool – I don’t know how the owners got all the stuff up the mountain, as to access the chalet you have to drive a caterpillar buggy up the track.

My mother and I enjoyed visiting St Gervais village, hiking up to the Cha restaurant in Les Houches and a circular walk around the mountain. We also enjoyed chilling on the terrace, and getting through loads of books with the bees buzzing around and the crickets chirping. While we were away it was 38 degrees in London so it was a relief to be up in the mountains with fresh air.

Overall I would definitely recommend this chalet for the adventurous family or group of friends who want a real “get away from it” experience. The chalet itself is very well kitted out: we found everything we needed in the kitchen, and the bathrooms have all mod cons. But this isn’t a sanitised, generic, modern hotel. The beauty of the place is the incredible setting, absolutely in the thick of it with nature. You get a real sense of being in a special, different place where time is running a bit more slowly.

It is a lovely chalet up in the mountain! A very enjoyable place to stay if you want to get away from all the hustle and bustle of life. Even in winter, you can enjoy the outdoor jacuzzi! I wouldn't recommend for someone who would like to go out to town every day tho. But it is still a very good chalet!

Diamond in the Snow

The quaint town of St Gervais with its marvellous little shops and Restaurants, just a short drive away was truly lovely.. This Chalet is a wonderland of contemporary living mixed with old charm, log fires and natural stone fittings, old French tub baths and modern soaking Tubs, not to mention the outside Hot Tub! truly fabulous. The owner is such a great guy, very helpful and full of enthusiasm with great conversation and useful tips to improve your stay. The nearby mountain Restaurant Taniere a short 25 minute walk up the mountain path, through the snow covered trees is magical and the food superb and at a reasonable price. If your looking for a trip to the mountains where all your dreams of skiing, fresh air, peace and tranquility are high on the agenda, this is just for you. We spent four nights here late January and will definitely be back for a longer stay… Well done to David and thank you we had simply the very best time…
